Hello, welcome back to Azy Reading Journey website, where our goal is to make learning fun. In this post, I will be writing a review on the Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe. Azy loves the VTech Touch and Learn Activity Deluxe Desk.
Currently, Azy is using it to learn numbers and counting. The activity desk is an interactive desk and includes five activity pages to explore. The activities pages are filled with engaging content that provides fun learning for kids.
Your child has the opportunity to learn the letters of the alphabet, numbers, counting, songs and much more. They will also have fun learning to play musical instruments.

According to the product description, “The Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe by VTech is a three-in-one desk with interactive activity cards that is expandable for more fun and discovery!”
The desk features an interactive desktop and five pages to explore. These pages are filled with engaging content including letters, numbers, music, colors and more.” Azy has been using the activity desk for a while now.
We used the Touch and Learn Activity Desk to help Azy learn the letters of the alphabet, and now we are using it to help him learn numbers and learn to count. Azy also uses the desk to do the other activities.
Playing Games With Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe
When using the activity desk, we also include additional materials such as magnetic letters and numbers plus flashcards. These help Azy recognize and identify the letters and numbers that are on the activity desk.
After he identifies a letter or number on the activity desk, he would place the magnetic letter and number on the corresponding letter or number on the desk.
In a previous post, I said that the activity desk would do a better job of testing Azy’s knowledge than it was doing to help to identify the numbers.
Since this is a touch and learn activity, the desk is very sensitive so it has to be touched slightly.
Therefore, I thought it was doing all the work, since it was difficult to have Azy touch the objects and count them. Go here to read more about how we are using the Touch and Learn Activity Desk to teach Azy numbers.
However, we saw that it could be useful to have Azy use the Toy Phone to help him with number recognition and identification. This would help to reduce the number of times we had to remind him of what a number is.
Now, we have found another way to utilize the desk, we are using it without turning it on. This is helping a lot, since Azy is able to touch the images on the desk and count them, without causing confusion.
In the video below, you will see Azy using the activity desk in off mode.
Kids can have extended playtime and fun learning with the VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe, when you purchase the Expansion packs (each sold separately).
With the Activity Desk Expansion packs, kids can learn new vocabulary words, play more activities and listen to new songs and melodies. There are eight expansion packs to choose from. They are sold separately, so you can buy one or more that are age appropriate for your child.
Here is a list for the title of the eight Expansion Packs
◊Nursery Rhymes (Ages: 2-4)
◊Numbers and Shapes (Ages: 2-4)

We have not purchased any of the expansion packs. So, since Azy is four years old, the packs for (Ages: 3-5) would be more suitable at this time. In addition, we could also buy the Get Ready for Preschool (Ages: 2-4).

Azy does a great job of using the “Music Jammer” not only to entertain himself, but to get the attention of everyone in the house to join in the fun.
When your child is ready to play with an activity card, it should be inserted into the Activity Card Slot. Make sure that you only insert one activity card.

This Can Help Your Child
I could continue to write about the Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe but since it features 100+ vocabulary words, 20+ activities and 20+ songs and melodies; it would be hard to list them all.
In addition, there are more than 200 touch and learn spots with up to 4 learning modes on each card.
I talked about the Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe, and how we are using it to teach Azy, while adding games and other materials.
You learned about the Expansion packs, and that can be purchased separately. Kids can learn continuously and have extended playtime while learning, if you chose to purchase them.
Information about what is in the package was provided, and I also gave some information on the product features and activity cards.
In addition, I mentioned that a lot more information could be found in the User’s Manual, and I provided a link so that you can read more about the Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe.
Overall, I think the activity desk is an excellent educational product and kids will learn a lot when they use it. Based on our experience with using the product to teach Azy, I do not think you will have any regrets if you buy it.
The product was rated highly on Amazon, and while most of the reviews are positive, some are negative. Negative reviews, mentioned that the product stopped working in less than one month.
However, the problem was eventually solved even though there was a delay in getting through to customer service.
Some buyers said that safety feature is needed to lock the table when the touch panel is lifted. Some reviews stated that the activity desk was too sensitive.
The activity desk is sensitive, but we found a way to use it in the off mode. Therefore, Azy can use it for focused learning. He also has the opportunity to do touch and count activities.
There were reviews that said the product is not durable because it stopped working after a while.
The Activity Desk Will Hang Around
Azy got The Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe when he was two years old. Now he is four years old, and he is understanding how to use it.
Based on that, small children might have difficulty using the activity desk without someone assisting them.
I recommend the Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe and believe that it can help your child to learn a lot of thing including the alphabet, counting, numbers, colors and many more activities.
